Things to do in Dunedin

If you have some time on your hands, Dunedin has plenty to keep you occupied.

Elm Wildlife Tours take you on a tour of the Otago Peninsula where you can watch sea lions and see the yellow eyed penguins returning home.

Larnach Castle took 15 years to build near the end of the 19th century and is New Zealand's only castle. It was lovingly restored in the 1960s and
remains one of Dunedin's top attractions.

Dunedin Railway Station is the most photographed building in Dunedin. It looks great with a blue sky behind it, so keep an eye out for a good, clear day!

Otago Museum is host to a tropical forest environment filled with close to a thousand butterflies. We spend ages there when we went, so it's definitely not just for kids :)

Speight's Brewery have five tours a day that take you through the history of beer, the history of Speight's, as well as the entire brewing process. The best part is where you pour your own beer at the tasting session.

Dunedin Chinese Garden is one of only three authentic Chinese gardens found outside of China. Dunedin's not a big place, but it's still nice to have a quiet retreat right in the city.
